Day 5
Today, I went on a company visit to Telecoms Training Institute in Valenzuela and MMDA (Traffic Engineering) in Mandaluyong.
This is our last day of our field trip. :( Some of us were sad because they want to extend the field trip.. But it can't be. We had four buses. Last day in Manila. We really enjoyed the last hours. Even it was hot that time.
Telecommunications Training Institute or TTI was originally established for the purpose of delivering telecommunications training programs to TELOF employees. However, in view of the training needs of other players in the telecommunications industry, its training programs were opened to other interested parties, such as: technical staff of PTEs, employees from other government agencies, students, out-of-school youths, and foreign students to name a few.
Before going to MMDA, we had our lunch in KFC. It was so hot that day. It was our first time that we visited the company in field. I mean no aircon. We really feel the heat of the sun.
We arrived at MMDA around 1:30 o'clock in the afternoon. We went to their place were we can find the CCTV Cameras that in Metro Manila. The CCTV Camera's are big help to monitor what's happening in the road of Manila. They can have the action immediately if there were accident or other matters that is happening in Metro Manila. All of them are watching the CCTV Camera's 24/7. They have to do their job well. MMDA personnel and equipment remain ready for immediate deployment by Task Force.
What I learned?
TTI has trained selected representatives from countries in Asia. Telecoms Training Institute offers the best training programs in the telecommunications industry. The authorized person told us that radio dispatch or two-way radio communication systems still remains to be the fastest, most reliable, and most affordable means in mobile communications. For mobile communications requirement. The system, which utilizes a “trunked flat form”, can accommodate multi-talk groups, and users can access secured channels for privacy (private call). I don't have any idea about he's topic.
What I liked ?
I liked the services of MMDA like: Transport and Traffic Management – which includes the formulation, coordination and monitoring of policies, standards, programs and projects to rationalize the existing transport operations, infrastructure requirements, the use of thoroughfares; and promotion of safe and convenient movement of persons, goods; provision for the mass transport system and the institution of a system to regulate road users; administration and implementation of all traffic enforcement operations, traffic engineering services and traffic education programs, including the institution of a single ticketing system. Flood Control and sewerage management - which includes the formulation and implementation of policies, standards, rules and regulations, programs and projects for an integrated flood control, drainage and sewerage system. Public Safety – which includes the formulation and implementation of programs and policies and procedures to achieve public safety, especially the preparedness for preventive or rescue operations during times of calamities and disasters such as conflagrations, earthquake, flood and tidal waves; and coordination and mobilization of resources and the implementation for rehabilitation and relief operations in coordination with national agencies concerned. Health and Sanitation, Urban Protection and Pollution Control – which includes the formulation and implementation of policies, rules and regulations, standards, programs and projects
Some of them are the services offered by the MMDA.
I hoped we can have that in Davao City. Actually we have that here but I want to use more technologies.
What I didn’t like?
I don't like visiting the Telecoms Training Institute. I don't know why, because I'm sleepy that time. The company didn't catch up my attention.
