your understanding about "DEATH OF THE CONSUMERS" .. cite examples (at least 3000words)

The word is a combination of producer and consumer that perfectly describe the millions of participants.
Death of the Consumers is the outcome of the convergence where the opportunity comes. Prosumers are the one who purchase high-quality equipment. For example, many digital cameras fall into the prosumer category. They offer higher quality and more advanced features than the lower-end consumer variety, but still do not possess all the features of the most professional units on the market. This customer is important enough that losing them would seriously hurt your bottom line. The customer really access to the new technology and should meet their specific requirements because customer is a huge thing for a bank.

Examples:

1.)When a prosumer wants a customize shirt. They will just create their own style or idea.

2.)About Digital Cameras. The next generation of sony 828 or nikon 8800. As sensor technology develops sensor size will not be the over-rated issue it is today. Canon went to 8mps in its dSLR without increasing sensor size and by most reports that sensor has less noise than the Canon 6mp dSLR sensor.

With customization focused on leisure pursuits, Toffler's initial combination has been largely supplanted by a second pair of blurring roles: that of the professional and consumer. In particular, hobbyists have become ever-more demanding in the pursuits of their hobbies, often rising above the level of dilettante (an amateur, someone who dabbles in a field out of casual interest rather than as a profession or serious interest) to the point of commanding skills equal to that of professionals. Key examples of such hobbies are:
home improvement as illustrated by the rise of hardware stores such as Home Depot
cooking as illustrated by creation of entirely new cable television channels entirely dedicated to the culinary arts such as The Food Channel or Food Network

Another example citation:

1. "In the parlance of the tech world, the new generation of digital film equipment is designed for the 'prosumer,' the consumer who thinks of himself as a semi-professional "
—Doug Bedell, "Digital video revolution," The Dallas Morning News, October 12, 2000

2. "'It's not just about retail, but medicine, design, architecture, fashion, interiors, even bio-technology and the internet,' says Shaw. 'All are moving towards a point where the purchaser or prosumer is key to determining the final look, feel and thumbprint characteristics of the product and service being sold.'"
—Martin Raymond, "Made to Measure," The Independent, November 7, 1999

3. "This urge to connect also has a more entrepreneurial side, marketing specialists say. Many young people say they are losing interest with mainstream consumer goods and are eager to sell their handmade goods to others. The ones that do sell their goods have been labeled 'prosumers,' short for 'producing consumers.'"
—Netsuko Segawa, "21st century shoppers," The Nikkei Weekly, December 21, 1999

4. "Sean Pillot de Chenecey, trend forecaster for youth markets, said: 'People are tired, and sick of being ripped-off, but can't get away from brands and branding. As a result they are becoming 'prosumers' — they are demanding their voice be heard.'"
—Cordelia Brabbs, "Web fuels consumer activism," Marketing, September 21, 2000

Consumers plays a vital role in the economical system of a nation because in the absence of the effective demand that emanates from them, the economy virtually collapses.

Death, of course, is a common pessimistic trope of critiques of consumer society. It lurks in the supposed emptiness of our souls. It is tempting to conclude on a similar pessimistic note, as so many other historians have found themselves doing. But in the decline of the organised consumer movement it is better not to see in its changing fortunes a shift towards an inevitable consumerist dystopian end point marked by individual acquisitiveness and the collapse of the social fabric,
but further evidence of the constant re-politicisation of consumption that has taken placewhenever people have identified themselves as consumers.

Standards of living and meeting basic consumer interests do not quite face the challenge of the environmental concerns ofmany of today’s ethical shoppers, but if they are left behind then what we are witnessing is the deletion of a basic goal of consumer society.

It has meant that other aspects of consumer society – and especially individual choice – have assumed a greater prominence which has eclipsed the older social welfare aspects of living in an age of consumption and mass affluence.

The death conclude with is the growing irrelevance of the consumer movement to the global regulation of the marketplace. At the same time, its earlier vision of themeaning of consumer society – based as much upon necessity as affluence – has become increasingly sidelined for reasons as much to do with its own operating logic as the criticisms made from it by outside forces.

Yet a third meaning or usage of prosumer is springing up, especially among some activist groups. That is, the producer and consumer roles are being combined so as to exclude (or at least diminish) the role of the corporate producer; thus, rather than generating higher corporate profits from value-added products, producers would, at best, be reduced to supplying lower-profit commodity inputs. Indeed, the more consumer-oriented prosumer spin is irrelevant to many people with diminished disposable income caused by various economic trends such as globalization, automation, and wealth concentration. Identifiable trends and movements outside of the mainstream economy that have adopted prosumer terminology and techniques include:
a Do It Yourself approach as a means of economic self-sufficiency or simply as a way to survive on diminished income
the voluntary simplicity movement that seeks personal, social, and environmental goals through prosumer activities such as:
growing one's own food
repairing clothing and appliances rather than buying new items
playing musical instruments rather than listening to recorded music
use of new media-creation and distribution technologies to foster independent media (see Indymedia); many involved in independent media reject mass culture generated by concentrated corporate media
self-sufficient barter networks, notably in developing nations, such as Argentina's RGT have adopted the term prosumer

Death of consumer is also the innovating changes in our economy. Everyday or every seconds they are changes that could probably change our lifestyle.

In a multiprogramming and time-sharing environment, several users share the system simultaneously. This situation can result in various security problems. Name at least two of these problems. Can we ensure the same degree of security in a time-share machine as we have in a dedicated machine? Explain your answer

A multiprogramming is a method of simultaneous execution on a digital computer of several programs related to different problems. Multiprogramming system is that system in which multiple programs run at same time or simultaneously for example windows xp.in this system does not provide user interaction with the computer system. But time sharing systems that provide user interaction with system and user thinks that system is with him all the time.

Some problems are: Data confidentiality having secret or confidential data remains so defining and enforcing who can see what – authorization authentication. Stealing or copying one's programs or data; using system resources (CPU, memory, disk space, peripherals) without proper accounting. Unauthorized user or program cannot modify data without owner’s permission. Writing over another program's (belonging to another user or to the OS) area in memory. Using system resources (CPU, disk space) without proper accounting; Causing the printer to mix output by sending data while some other user's file is printing.

The more complex the scheme, the more difficult it is to feel confident of its correct implementation. Security depends on the key strength number of keys type of algorithm key distribution system reliability of persons and other such parameters in cryptology hence time sharing or dedicated machines.

The time-sharing mode gives every user the impression that the computer is working for him alone. Each user is supplied with a data input-output device (of the display type) or other equipment that ensures interaction with the computer. This includes equipment that uses telephone lines. Each user solves his problem periodically during the machine time allocated to him, studies the results, and prepares the next assignment for the computer. The user ordinarily uses a general library of programs, but he may also have a private archive. If the general library is used, a supervisory program plans and executes forced interruptions of programs depending on user priority, machine time allocated to him, and the nature of the problem being solved. The time-sharing mode permits the user to carry on an effective dialogue with the machine, which is most convenient in control systems for production processes, automatic control systems for enterprises and sectors of the national economy, reference and information services, and large computer centers. When it is not serving users, the computer may do batch processing.
Multiprogramming is provided by hardware and software. The hardware includes memory protection and the organization of interruptions. The software includes supervisory programs and problem-oriented programming languages that take into account the characteristics of multiprogramming.

Select two of the following professionals:

Put forward a theory about how that person might use a hand held computer in their work

• A newspaper reporter

The work of the reporter is to gather all the information needed in a certain type of mass media. They have different ways in collecting data. A newspaper reporter gather and analyze facts about current events that is happening in a certain events, and they observes, investigates or interview to get information. They take notes or use a tape recorder while covering a story. Reporters work both indoors and outdoors, dealing with all kinds of people. They may work for long periods on unproductive leads. With the help of computers, they can check references thru internet, and even they are not in the office they can use portable computers outdoor. Sometimes, to meet deadlines, reporters deliver their news story over the telephone or use portable computers to enter the story which is then sent by modem directly to the newspaper's computer system. In my research, I found out that electronic technology has brought change to the newspaper office; it has not diminished the need for reporters. Automation has eliminated the legendary clamor of the large news room in favor of a more high-tech information producing operation.

• A Manager in a Supermarket

A manager is the one who manage a team. They are the one who supervise employees and store operations, also in inventory and ordering products. A supermarket manager should communicate with the employees. Computer is a big help in this kind of industry. Information systems are used widely in shops and in the distribution of goods and one area in which their use is particularly important is a supermarket. Computer systems are used in a variety of ways in the modern. The supermarket uses several computers. The internet is a huge help to people relocating, giving them a visual aid of what is available in the supermarket. Much communication can be done prior to a prospect arriving in a new town.

your reflections/learning's/thoughts on the video clip of Guy Kawasaki: MAKE Meaning (at least 2000 words)

We watched a video clip of Guy Kawasaki. Who is Guy Kawasaki? He is one of the founders and Managing Director of Garage Technology Ventures, a seed-stage and early-stage venture capital fund. Lots of learning that we can get here in his video; the art of the beginning. He suggested some tips and guidelines in order to be successful in life and how to balance life. He gives examples of the best way to make meaning: increase quality of life, right a wrong, and prevent the end of something good. Increase quality of life is the best example of make meaning. It can motivate your self or your goal in life. If you make meaning in your life, you increase the quality of your life. It can help you to go on in your life. Next is right a wrong. In that quote, we should to good deeds in order to make our life better. If we want people will treat us good, we should start that in our own. To right a wring is a good way in make meaning of our life. Just follow your heart if you know that's the right thing to do. The last one is prevent the end of something good. All bad things and good things happen for a reason. Whatever the outcome of your plans just be ready and accept it.

He also explains that market research, focus groups, and test cases can bog down an entrepreneur and prevent her or him from completing the most necessary task - action! His advice to break the cycle is to think different, polarize people, and find a few soul mates. He also suggested to create a milestone to keep the business in a right path in order to be successful. All of the experience in the world means nothing if they are not bitten and infected by the start-up bug. He also tells you how to avoid the bozo explosion, which only leads to layoffs, and how to apply the shopping center test to know if you're hiring the right person. There are so many ways on how to be successful in life: Set targets or goals - Always set realistic targets and give yourself a date by which to reach your target. Review your targets on a regular basis to make sure they are always attainable. Study hard. Tap your resources. Have a positive mental attitude .Negative thoughts that have been inculcated in our conscious and unconscious minds are among the major hindrances in our lives. Manage your time right. Learn to give and share to others. Success cannot be achieved by just your own efforts. There are also people around you who have contributed and paved the way for you to succeed, so you have to be thankful for that. Mistakes are an inevitable part of business life, particularly so for start ups. Errors can serve as learning tools, but can also sap your enthusiasm and drive. Mistake is a challenge.

He says that: “if you make meaning, you will probably make money. But if you set out to make money, you will probably not make meaning and you won’t make money.” In this quotes, he wants to imply in business, making meaning is also make money. Making money in business is one of the most important factors. All of the business man should come up with a big money in order to be successful. If you really dedicated in your life, you will be successful. You have to put your heart in this kind of activity. Make meaning is not just also to make money but to increase the quality of life, right a wrong, prevent the end of something good and to make a better place. You have to set your goal in life. What do you want or what you like. Setting goals to your self is an essential element of being a human. To be effective, goals must be clear and understandable. Each goal must be concrete, attainable, and critical to the growth of your business. Don't set goals such as "Do a better job," because a general goal does not instruct.

In order to be successful in life you have to balance everything. Do the right thing in the right way and help people in a right way without any hesitation. Kawasaki said that too much money is worse that not enough money. He believes that if you are having a hard time finding someone to spread the message about your product, then you may need to re-evaluate your product or your goals. Build something great, and the evangelists will be there. Every business requires a different set of skills or know-how, knowing general principles of doing business can go a long way to ensuring the long term. There are many tips to be successful in life: Work with your passion - do something that you love. When you’re in a business that gives you personal satisfaction, then you’ll do anything to make it succeed. You have to know what you love, what you like and what you hate. Believe that you will be successful - when you have a winner’s mindset, then you’ll be motivated to work hard, persist and focus and don't be afraid. To have mistake is a challenge for us. You have to ready always because not all the time we are the winners. Train to be a better entrepreneur - For most people; a home-based business is the starting point of their journey towards a life of entrepreneurship. And the only way to reach success is to constantly invest in yourself and make your entrepreneurial spirit grow. Planning is an often overlooked aspect of starting a business, a fatal mistake that often shows up in midstream. Mistakes are an inevitable part of business life, particularly so for start ups. Errors can serve as learning tools, but can also sap your enthusiasm and drive. Passion can only take you so far, and when the mistakes pile up, a man without a plan could be in serious trouble. Creating and sticking to a plan is more important for start up businesses, as these often have limited resources. Jacinto says businesses often make the mistake of splurging on only one aspect of the business, to the detriment of other factors.

Make meaning in your life is a big help for us to go on with our life. You have to know what you really love, what you like and what you hate. In order to be successful in life, you should be focus in everything and balance. As I watched the video again, it really inspired me again to enjoy life and to think business that is good and can help to everyone
